What I`ve done is set the proportional font to Fixed Width too.

Since this is the second time someone has mentioned using FixedSys, I hacked
about a bit more.

The font selection window only allows you to select TrueType fonts, but
there is a way of getting FixedSys in Outlook Express.

Save the following to a file on your computer and name it oefixedsys.reg:

=-> Start copying on the next line
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Outlook
Express\Trident\International\1252]
"IEFixedFontName"="Fixedsys"
"IEPropFontName"="Fixedsys"
=-> Stop copying on the previous line

now go to the file in Explorer (ie go through 'My Computer' to the place
where you saved the file) and double-click on it. The font for the primary
user of your computer will now be fixedsys. (The primary user is the only
user on a single-user machine, so if you don`t have multi-user support
enabled this won`t matter)

Run Outlook Express, and presuming you have Western character set chosen in
the font settings, you should now see messages in FixedSys!

I hope some people find a use for this.

(I take no responsibility for any damage that this registry hack may do to
your computer... use it at your own risk. It *should* do what I say on a
pretty standard Win95 installation)
