Easy solution is to add a bit in your preferences file to your email
address. eg change it to you...@whereever.com to
you...@wherever.com-nospam

This prevents machines from picking up on your email address.  If anyone
wants to email you it is pretty obvious that you need to remove the
-nospam bit from your address.  This has worked for me.
