Now that's hardly fair since you've no idea as to how much time he spends
on the asciis or where he does them. I haven't done anything as large as
his works, but I know mine only take about half an hour on the outside or
a largish drawing. His might even take as much time despite being larger
since so many of his are solid area fills and he doesn't have to muck
around with linking little semicolons and apostrophes like I do :)
Further more, what's wrong with him taking the time to use a creative
outlet for himself and others? You'd never notice if he used that time
to watch mindless television, and certainly wouldn't think to complain on
it, but because he does something publicly all of a sudden he's wasting
time. Well, enough on this.. it's really not about Dutch Dude (who I
never met or corresponded with) but about ascii artists in general. Just
like people who build model trainsets, cut topiary hedges, or even just
play DOOM for 2 hours at as crack, ascii artists have something that they
enjoy and there's no harm in that.
