Apologies if I've "done you wrong" but I just somehow picked up from all
your postings the idea that all your work was being carried out in
and for Windoze 95 and that you made the assumption that every user
of any importance used Windoze 95/98/NT so they would be able to run
all the proggies you can run or create.

What probably triggered my perception was your pointing me to that
"Effects Tool" utility which does what ASC-TOOL.EXE does. I
downloaded the thing and it needed Windoze 95...it would not even
run on my Windoze 3.11. Grrrr! !@#$%^&*

There is an awful lot of stuff already written and being written for
Windoze only, but, there are many thousands of old MS-DOS programs
still available and in use worldwide and they still work well.
And I recall those who go " !@#$%^&* Grrrr! " at MS-DOS and call it
MS-DOG and Messy-Dos etc and favoured Unix, OS-2, AmigaDos etc.

I was brought up on MS-DOS at the command line and learned purely by
The "hands on the keys" method helped by manuals and DOC files and
that great DOS utility...XTREE...pure gold.

Perhaps Windows NT will ultimately be the only surviving operating
system but not everyone will use it and all the old systems will
still be in use by old luddites like me. :-)

Ascii Artwork really is a luddite/dinosaur sort of activity in these
modern days of Windoze, Web Browsers, HTML, Java and Clicky Mice.

Bye,
