No chance this is a reference to Dr. Michael Spivak? We used
one of his books in differetial geometry class. The cover has
this curvy thing with holes in it (I assume a manifold of
some type) on it. I'm working on homework one day and my niece says
"what's this?" and points out the nose of a yellow pig poking out of
one of the holes. The rear-end is poking out another. In the index
is a reference to "pig, yellow, pg. 590" tho there is no yellow pig
on that page...
And there's the Diff Geo <=> General Relativity <=> time travel thing.
Anyway, if it's not, it should be :-)
