Very simply-- make sure you are using a fixed-width
font to view--  (courier, fixedsys are probably the
most popular fixed-width fonts) and look at the pics
on your favorite text editor- whatever that might be.
ASCII art is text so you can copy/paste.  The biggest
problem that people seem to have is using the correct
font.   A simple test... if the following two lines are the
same length, then you are using a good font.. if not-
try another:
