Yes, there are some great female artists.  The only area I can claim to
know well is current fantasy art, where we have Rowena Morril, Julie
Bell, Janny Wurtz and Cathleen Thole.

Then we have the great male artists in the same genre: Boris Vallejo,
Jeff Easley, Joe Jusko, Ken Kelly, Frank Frazetta, Larry Elmore, Keith
Parkinson, Don Maitz, Clyde Caldwell, James Warhola, David Cherry, The
Brothers Hildebrandt, Nestor Redondo, ...
