That's like saying that VBRUN.DLL or whatever is the thing which comes with <some random BASIC program>. go32 is the 32-bit DOS *extender* by DJ Delorie, used by programs compiled with his GNU C port "djgpp". It can (and should) be compiled into executables to make them stand- alone; if gifscii doesn't work without it, it wasn't compiled correctly. (Those who already have go32.exe in their path can use the djgpp stub- edit and/or coff2exe programs to remove the extra copy from the execu- table. All of this is in the djgpp docs, and it's all available on the SimTel mirrors.) Greg Roelofs
