While the truth, AFAIK, goes something like this:

This is really an International newsgroup, you know. It's not 
'merikan. Usenet is not 'merikan. People are posting *here* in English
only because this one happens to be an English (not 'merikan) language
newsgroup.

BTW i'm European, speaking from Asia, using newsreader Pine under
Linux. I bet you can hardly imagine such a creature exists, huh? |]
