Love and Art

Friends and Fellow Lovers of Art,

In 1971, I think when most of you were very young or perhaps unborn, I
was in college and met a girl and we were together for almost 3 years.
We were both very young, much too young to recognize love and
certainly too young to know what to do about it.

We parted company and did not think much of each other for 25 years,
except sometimes, late at night, alone, I would think of her and feel
some vague pain in some hidden place of my heart.

In January of this year, I ran across her [on the internet, of
course].  I was instantly elated and felt rushes of joy which lasted
for a month or more.  Then, I sank into deep dispair, agony at how
much we had missed in life, at the impossibility of retrieving that
which was lost.

In March, I asked your NG to draw me a picture which portrayed a
certain event in our early time together and BluePard responded with
some kind of psychic likeness which captured us so exactly, as if he
knew us.  And I sent it to her so that she might remember some of the
good things between us.

We talked for many months and, during this time, I collected your art
to ilustrate parts of our discussion.  To make a long story short,
today she agreed to be mine and I agreed to be hers, and we have
agreed to marry [well, not precisely marry - at our age, the paperwork
no longer matters so much as that which is in our hearts].

I invite you each to congratulate us.  As she has a rather public job,
I cannot give you her email address but, if you will send me your best
wishes, I will forward them to her.  Her name is Lena and I am known
