The details of that depend a bit on your software and what you are about to do with it. If - you charge any amount of money or - the program will be on every download page in the internet then I would not do it. I got a couple of complaints about pictures in my collection. In one case there was a ancient story connected to the picture and the artist that I didn't know about and the artist didn't care about.
