United Nations Logo

United Nations Logo

I have more than once posted requests for the UN logo, and have less
than once (meaning never) recieved a reply. So, as I said in my
postings, I have been trying this on my own, with no experience in
ASCII art creation except for this one project.

I started out with:

(O)
U N

Somehow, even though I wanted a .sig size one, after all my drafts,
this is still my favorite in that it is simple, and most of all,
recognizable as far as being ASCII art. Then, I tried and tried and
tried (I have posted some of my previous attempts), and came up with
this, the UN logo w/o continents:

        , _,-"T"-._ .
       v /\ __]__ /\ v
      V / "\_]_/" \ V
      V I_/_/ \_\_I V
      V I \ \ / / I V
      V \ \/_T_\/ / V
       V \/" ] "\/ V
        ~, ^^-.L.-^^ ,~ -Dan Wolfe
          ^~~~~x~~~~^
              / \

And then, I tried adding continents over the above grid:

        , _,-"T"-._ .
       v /\ __]i_@o\ v
      V / "\_]_/" \ V
      V I_/@@@ `@@@_I V
      V I \ @@ dn@/ I V
      V \`@@o_T@@@@ / V
       V \/@@ ] `@@/ V
        ~, ^^-.L.-^^ ,~ -Dan Wolfe
          ^~~~~x~~~~^
              / \

My main concern is, is it recognizable? It doesn't matter if it's
viewed black on white or white on black; black on white gives the UN
logo, whereas white on black suggests a partial UNA-USA logo. Either
way, would someone who isn't entirely familiar with ASCII art recognize
it as the United Nations logo? If anyone has any suggestions as to how
to improve it, I welcome that, but I request that you NOT modify the
image to demonstrate these suggestions; this is my first project, and I
want to do it by myself. I'll accept advice, but I don't want anyone
to demonstrate it by modifying the above images; I insist that any
suggestions simply be words describing possible changes. Of course, I
also welcome comments, compliments, and criticism.

Thanks.

-DAN Wolfe
